For students enrolled in the first year of a bachelor’s degree program (2014-2015 academic year), the LUISS Guido Carli offer a number of intensive preliminary courses to give students the opportunity to acquire specific skills on fundamental topics that will not be covered during the degree program.
The Studying effectively preliminary course consists of lessons that are highly interactive and dynamic, and encapsulate a wide range of exercises and role plays aimed at developing principal learning techniques and provide students with specialist knowledge in terms of time management and thinking processes.
The continuous interaction among students will also provide a first and fundamental moment of integration and knowledge of future classmates.
The preliminary courses will be held in September prior to the commencement of lectures at LUISS University (Viale Romania campus).
The Studying effectively preliminary course will consist of 5 lectures (of 4 hours duration) and will take place:
From 1 to 13 September (for students who passed the admission test in March 2014.
Students will be divided into groups, and each group will have a specific schedule (as indicated in the attachment). Students will be assigned their group by the end of July.
From 15 to 20 September (for students who will pass the admission test in September 2014).
There is a minimum number of students required in order for the Studying effectively preliminary courses to take place; only a limited number of students will be admitted (positions will be filled on a first come first served basis, therefore applications should be submitted as soon as possible).
The maximum number of students refers to students from all departments.
How to participate
Registration is free. No official grades will be given for these courses, and attendance is strongly recommended but not mandatory.
Only students who passed the admission test can apply for the preliminary courses.
Applications must be sent from June 26 to July25 by students who have passed the admission test in March 2014.
Applications must be sent from 6 to 11 September by students who pass the admission test in September 2014.
No applications received outside of these dates will be considered.
