In the written exam, candidates are asked to write an essay on one topic that they can choose among six drawn topics, irrespective of the scientific field of their research project.
- For each of the three PhD curricula two Fields, as indicated below, are identified. This means that overall, there are six Fields;
- For each Field, one topic is drawn from the three different topics suggested by the Commission among the specific themes identified for each Field (see the list for each field).
Candidates will not be summoned to take the written exam until at least 20 days after the date of publication of those admitted to the exam in question.
Non-Italian citizens and Italian citizens that reside abroad can write the essay in English. However, they will have to prove, during the oral exam, an adequate knowledge of Italian.
