Students enrolled in the first year of the bachelor’s degree program in political science (enrolled in 2013-2014) – pre-program course in decision-making and judgment processes

LUISS Guido Carli has decided to offer all of its students enrolled in the first year of the bachelor’s degree program and single-cycle master’s degree program (enrolled in 2013-2014) the pre-program course in Decision-making and judgment processes.

The objective of this pre-program course is to interactively introduce students to an awareness of fundamental mechanisms for making judgments and the main errors that prejudice cognitive processes, preparing them to confront the complexity that university studies assume, independently of their chosen program and the material presented in it. All of the lessons are structured as follows: after a brief introduction from the professor, two experiments in which all of the students will be directly involved and whose results will be analyzed and explained in the classroom; after which the professor will illustrate the  theoretical themes touched upon during the session.

The pre-program course will be held at one of the LUISS Guido Carli campuses from September 9 to 21, 2013 and will be divided into 9 hours a week (3 lectures of 3 hours each) for a total of 18 hours (the schedule will be available online before the courses begin).

Courses will only be offered if a minimum number of students register, and once a maximum number has been reached, it will no longer be possible to accept any more students; the selection of participants will take place on a first-come, first-served basis; the maximum number of participants refers to students coming from all of the Departments involved.

Attending these pre-program courses does not exempt students from having to make up credits missing from their curriculum that were noted when they registered for the test.
